Ok, so I’ve finally broken down and joined in on this blog thing.\u00a0 I’ve had to keep one for the last 6 months for work, so I understand how they work, but the kids at school don’t read the materials I hand to them, I have my doubts about them going out and looking for material I don’t.\u00a0 So anyway… I generally can’t conceive of why anyone would want to know about the inner workings of my mind or the minutia of my daily life so can’t see any reason to spend the time writing it down for no one but my mom and mother-in-law to read,\u00a0 (Hi moms!) when I can just tell them about it on the phone.\u00a0 But fiber, now… everyone wants to read about fiber (sheep fiber, worm fiber, yak fiber, llama fiber, plastic fiber, linen fiber, cotton fiber… I could go on and on, and if you aren’t getting as excited about it as I am right now, then this may not be the blog for you.)\u00a0\u00a0 So, since I’m in need of a journal to keep a record of my experiments, this might as well be it.\u00a0 If no one reads it, then hey, here it is for my use, and fond memories, and if they do… then maybe I’ll attract a cult following write a best selling book and have it made into a moderately successful movi… oh, wait, wrong Julie.<\/p>\n
Anyway, my first set of experiments to be fully documented are a dyeing project.\u00a0 I have purchased 12 Jacquard Acid Dyes, and am testing them on my old stand-by fiber, the 2 lbs of merino that I bought in January of ’09.\u00a0 My daughter suggested I start with purple and then move on the gold (Aztec gold that is), so purple and gold it is.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
