Slow Week

My son and I came down with a doozy of a cold on Tuesday, so yesterday was pretty much a wash, and not much is happening today as I recover and try to catch up on house work. Still, crafting is never completely still. I’ve cast on yarn (store bought I’m ashamed to say) for a little hood for my son. He chose the pattern with the stipulation. “I want red.” So red it is.

If you’re wondering why I’m ashamed of store bought yarn, it might help to know that this blog was started as a spinning blog. By far my favorite hobby is spinning yarn. Unfortunately I injured my elbow several months ago. My husband calls it crafter’s elbow, and he’s probably not wrong. Anyway, it has prevented me from working up any of the fleeces in my stash and I don’t have the money right now to buy new commercially prepared top. It is killing me, that beautiful auburn llama just sitting there. Still, as my son is 3, perhaps lion brand acrylic is a better choice. It was half off at JoAnn’s Columbus Day Sale.

Also, my daughter and I started bird’s nest bowls to use up some of our shredded paper. It’s drying, I’ll post pictures as soon as it’s finished. We may decoupage them as well. I’m dieing to try that.

These are two characters from my Sunday D&D game. Yes, I'm a total geek, was there any doubt?

Finally I’ll leave you with my latest 3d endeavor. I’m about 80% happy with it.
