Sometimes things don’t go as planned. The project currently on my loom was intended to be another exercise in double weave, this time using a split shed technique. As it turned out, either my warp was too heavy a thread, or I packed it too densely, because it did not work for the weft-faced fabric I had intended. So instead, since it was a wide warp, I decided to make the bath towel that I have been planning. I hemmed and hawed for quite a long time trying to decide what pattern to use, but in the end, I just decided to do a simple basket weave because I had spent too much time thinking about it andnot enough time weaving.
